The Beatles were a famous rock and roll band formed in Liverpool, England in 1960. When they first began, they were not as sucessful as they had hoped for. They had many failed record deals and gigs. Finally the band had it's big break. They were one of the most famous bands of thier time. They were really big over in England during the early 60's and the Beatles craze ventured over to the United States. They began touring the globe, while in between making hit records that topped the charts. After about 10 years of legendary success, the band started to loose its popularity. Each of the band members each released a solo album in 1970. After the Beatle craze settled a little, John Lennon was shot and killed in 1980. Then in 2001, George Harrison died of throat cancer. Ringo Starr and Sir Paul McCartney are still alive today. There was a big hoax about how Paul McCartney died during the bands golden years, and was replaced by a look-a-like and a sound-a-like. In one of thier songs, "Strawberry Fields Forever", it is known that Lennon says the phrase "I buried Pual" in a slow deep tone. This still has not been proven true, but has been denied by the band members.

The Four Seasons were a rock and pop group with a dash of doo woop that was established in Newark, New Jersey. The Four Seaons were known for thier front vocalist, Frankie Valli, for his amazing range. The Four Seasons didn't really get out to a good start. The first single they released didn't even make the charts. Then in 1962, they released thier next single "Sherry" which was number one on the charts and was the band's first number one song. After the release of "Sherry", the band's success climbed to great heights. They released many top selling records and number one singles. One of the band's most famous songs was "December 1963 (Oh What a Night)". The Four Seasons was one of the most iconic bands of the 60's and of all time. The Four Seasons even had a Broadway musical based off of the iconic band called "Jersey Boys". Jersey Boys follows the life of The Four Seasons about how they got started, thier rise to fame, and the fall of the band. This famous Broadway musical won 4 Tony Awards the first year it debuted.

The Broadway shows of the 1960's were some of the most famous that were ever produced. Even Bye Bye Birdie, The Fantasticks, Hair, and Finian's Rainbow are still playing on Broadway today. The Fantastck's is the worlds longest running musical ever in history. The musical ran for 42 years, and performed 17, 162 performances. Bye Bye Birdie and Hair were the first Broadway musicals that used rock and roll style music in the scripts. These musicals were smash hits across the country. Bye Bye Birdie was based off music phenominon Elvis Presley and how he was drafted into the army. And Hair was based off the 60's hippies, drugs and free love. These musicals revolutioned the way producers looked at new musicals. These musicals inspired the styles of Broadway of the current day.
